Ever since I had my baby I feel like I've lost my mind. I do things I've never done before: leave things
(things being cellphones, cameras, my wallet) on top of my car and drive away, burn food I've forgotten that I'm
cooking, forget the ATM pin that I've used for the past 5 years ... you get the picture.
Some people would say I have "Mommy Brain"—a mushy brain caused by pregnancy and motherhood. My theory is that it's all about sleep deprivation, but I'm no scientist. A group of Australian scientists, however, did just publish the results of a new study, which found that there isn't any truth to the "Mommy Brain" theory, and that being a mom has no impact on a woman's intelligence. Helen Christensen, the professor who led the research, said she also hopes that future human data will align with the data they've been collecting on rats. Apparently those studies show that mother rats excel at multi-tasking. Um, Professor, we really don't need a study to tell us that!
What's the "Mommy Brain-iest" thing you've done since becoming a mom?
