Man Arrested for Trying to Make Baby Smile

Eight patrol cars filed with arm officers went after a man, who according to witnesses, was obviously harmless and just trying to make a baby laugh.
The fiftiesh-year-old British man went up to a mom and her baby in a stroller, while holding a toy gun that lights up and make a buzzing noise when you pull the trigger. He pointed the gun at the baby and said, "Pow-pow."
The man then walked away to catch a bus and the mom called the police. Soon the bus stop was surrounded with cops who pointed machine guns and rifles at the man. He had no idea what was going on. The witnesses who had seen the interaction with the baby were shocked. The man was arrested.
What do you think? Harmless joke? Or scary situation?

Seriously people lighten up! I once had a gentlemen in his60's come up to me when my daughter Becky was little, just to say wow she is a really pretty baby and at 11 months Becks looked up and said "Thank-You" he pinched her cheeks not hard just a term of endearment. When we checked out he was in two people in front of me, when I got to the cashier she handed me a lollipop and told me the man had bought it for my daughter.

Poor guy! I admit I don't always like it when strangers interact with my baby but come ON!

Oh my god talk about over dramatic! If the child wasn't screaming or crying and actiing scared some people need to lighten up!

Yah...that's rediculous. That makes me really sad. It get's hard sometimes to deal with EVERYBODY coming up to you...but...he was obviously just playing with the baby. :( Dumb people need to lighten up :(

I think it's sad really. Obviously the intent wasn't to freighten! For goodness sake, the gun light up.....it was obviously a toy. People are so over senstitive these days!

over reaction!! omg, if the gun looked real that would be a different story but it lit up for God's Sake! Why did she just not yell at him or something!!?

What did she say to the cops that would make them surround the bus? Did she say he had a real gun or that he pointed a fake gun at my baby? Because seriously I can't beleive they would go on a call with such force if she had said what he did.. which leads me to beleive that she lied, in which case she should be held responsible for inducing panic. That story is seriously screwed up!! Somebody over-reacted BIG time!!!!!!
