There are a lot of reasons you might want to have your baby on or before your due date—your back hurts, you can't sleep, you just want your maternity leave to start already. Now two new studies say that infants born more than one week past their due dates have a higher risk of poorer health and death. While there's been lots of research on preemies and early delivery, this is the first time there's been a big study on the risks of delivering at 40 weeks or more.
