New Mom Secrets: I Let My Baby Wear a Dirty Diaper

don't change dirty diaperIt's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we won't tell.

This Week's Secret:

"I don't change my baby's diaper during the night—I'm too tired. In the morning it's always filled with pee or poop, or both. He's getting an awful diaper rash, but I lied to the pediatrician saying I didn't know why his bum was all red. Sometimes if he cries a lot, my boyfriend will change his diaper while I pretend to be asleep." —anonymous

Is it okay to let your baby sleep in a soiled diaper at night so you can catch some zzz's?

Thats actually child negelct...your baby is a baby ONCE. Be a grown woman and deal with it. If you are this bad now, what else will it be later???

Carla White

Laziness. I feel sorry for that baby.

If the baby has diaper rash THIS badly-

A. Your Ped. knows it's because you are lazy.

B. If your boyfriend is ignoring it and you are ignoring it= you both SUCK!!!

So you all post a child abuse confession? Thats sick and the info needs to be turned over to the cops, IP address, internet user name and every detail possible. This lady is a sick neglectful twat who deserves jail time.

How old is this baby? If she's not waking up to change it, she's probably not waking up to feed it either. Lazy parenting at it's worst.

I can say now, as the mother of a four and a half year old and a two week old, I am dead tired all the time. Between breastfeeding, diaper changes, cooking, cleaning, and making sure my four year old isn't left out of the loop, I don't get naps, yet my daughter's bum is kept clean and dry, by me and only me, at all hours of the day.. Grow up. It isn't about you any more.

When my son was tiny and in a cosleeper, I couldn't sleep while he cried, not at all. I would roll over, change him, and go back to sleep. Don't get me wrong. I didn't pick my son up, walk around bouncing and talking to him each time he stirred. If he needed a diaper I rolled over, fed or changed him. And went back to sleep. I wouldn't always get up, I almost never burped him at night because it did no good anyway (you could burp him for an hour, nothing would happen until he was ready, he'd typically burp just lying there on his back)... But letting your kid lie in a soiled diaper all night? Don't get me wrong.ll didn't change every single diaper after the tiniest of puddles... But my son NEVER sat in a crappy diaper that I was aware of. NEVER.
