It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new
baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all
the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets—we
won't tell.
This Week's Secret:
"I don't change my baby's diaper during the night—I'm too tired. In the morning it's always filled with pee or poop, or both. He's getting an awful diaper rash, but I lied to the pediatrician saying I didn't know why his bum was all red. Sometimes if he cries a lot, my boyfriend will change his diaper while I pretend to be asleep." —anonymous
We all have secrets and opinions -- so thanks to this brave
mom for sharing her honest thoughts, and thank you for keeping this
conversation non-judgemental!

This is considered child abuse. You need to get up or find someone that will take care of your child. There are all kinds of people who would love to take your child and treat him the way he needs to be treated. He needs to be treated like a human not an animal!
Sounds a tad bit selfish. "I'm going to continue sleeping even thought I hear my child crying because their diaper is stuck to their blistering raw butt." Some people are just too selfish and self centered to be parents.
You know, there have been confessions in the past I've seen on here that I can relate to. There are things that we do as parents that aren't always perfectly by the book.
This right here, however, made me cringe. I couldn't have left either one of my kids in a dirty diaper all night. I ALWAYS changed them, unless they were dry when they woke up. My son got diaper rash all of the time, and I had to be extra careful about how frequently I changed his diapers. My daughter, not so much, but with girls, you have to worry about UTIs.
Whoever made this confession, and by her use of the word "bum", I'm going to assume that she's a Brit, doesn't need to have a baby if she can't care for the baby properly.
Baby is crying, you hear him/her...just get up and do it!
Or have an arrangement with your boyfriend to take turns. Parenting is not the easiest of things, but somethings need to be done...just do it!
if its uncomfortable enough to wake up MY daughter then it must feel pretty bad.. I'll get up if she wakes up and needs a diaper change, but I don't get her up to change her. You've got to be kidding!! Let the sleeping baby lie!!!
I don't change a wet diaper (unless it's soaking) at night but to allow your child to lay in a poopy diaper? As others have said, that's abuse.
I've reported this to CafeMom b/c this is NOT okay.
poor baby
some people should not be parent!!!!!!!
Here's my idea, Mommy. Take a laxative and Wear a Depends for 24 hours w/o changing yourself and see if you still think it's OK to to this to your child! If he could change himself he would, I assure you! Where do you live? I'll happily drive over there every night to change that diaper for you!
Guess what? If your baby gets a rash from one night of sleeping in a wet diaper, you're not keeping baby clean enough in the first place. A dirty diaper I can understand, my daughter sometimes gets a red rash as soon as it happens & I change it (Boudreaux's Butt Paste clears it up fast).
