Are you keeping a baby book? You know, a book you fill with photos and momentos, and where you mark down things like your baby's monthly weight, or the first time he rolls over, sits up, sleeps through the night, etc. I received a few of them as gifts and I intended to keep one—really I did.
I saved some things from my baby shower and the hospital (like her "baby girl" tag), and I just know they're around here somewhere. I filled in some stuff here and there, but it's really spotty. I forgot
things I was sure I'd remember (and was going to mark down just as soon as I had a
chance) like the exact day she first smiled or the one when her first
tooth popped through. These are important things. How could I forget
them? I guess it's because she's changing so much, so fast. Still, I feel really guilty. I think I'll go try to work on her book right now. Or maybe I'll do it later.
Are you keeping a baby book? Is it all pretty and perfect? Or are you behind like me?

Im so behind too and I only have one child ! but Im afraid its so late! that I don't have some of the stuff I need and its to late to get it?!?!?
Lol What baby book? I gove up on the guilty feelings by just not bothering in the first place.
I am way behind. I saved everything and kept up with it really well until he became mobile! LOL Before he was walking, I would put stuff in it & fill in the blanks, etc. while he was having tummy time or taking a nap. But ever since he's been walking (even when he was crawling), it has been so hard b/c he is all over the place & I have to watch him constantly. And b/c he's so active, I sleep during his afternoon nap, which would be about the only time I have to work on it. I do still collect things and put them on the shelf with the book, hoping eventally I will have the time to sit down & get it up to date. My son is 17 months and I haven't touched his baby book since he was about 11 months old. And none of the "firsts" have been filled out. I feel horrible.
I did pretty well at first with my DD's but it needs a lot of help now. We have a baby memory box also though, so I have been keeping all of the important things. I hope to sit down eventually and work on it. I basically made it like a scrapbook, but that stopped after she was only a few month old. I do want to try to catch up on it before this new little peanut is born in Sept... guess we'll see! :)
Oh, and I wanted to add!! Isn't it more important to make memories with your babies then it is to have it all laid out perfectly in a book? :) That's may motto anyway!
I haven't even finished my DD's first year, she's now 5, and I don't have a book for my DS who's 11 months old. Heck, I haven't even begun to work on our wedding album. We're going on 9 years!!!!
My daughters book is completely up to date. she is 2
HAH!
I mean, um... no. Fortunately, with the help of digital technology, one of these days I'll be able to assemble some great baby books. You know, once my kids have moved out.
no but thanks for reminding me :)
