A woman in California gave birth to octuplets yesterday. Octuplets. That's eight babies. Can you imagine? It's only the second known set of octuplets to be born in the United States. The news reported that forty-six people were involved in the deliveries. I wonder if that included the one amazing mama.
She gave birth to six boys and two girls via C-section. The doctors were only expecting seven babies, but were surprised by an eighth. I bet the mom and dad were pretty surprised too. Guess they'd better run out and buy another car seat!
I think having eight kids would be fun—but not all at once.
What do you think would be the hardest thing about having that many babies? The diaper changing? The feeding? The crying?

Keeping up with all the normal daily tasks would be hard, that and affording the price of diapers and other supplies you need for babies. I wonder if you'd ever get any sleep? I'd definitely have to hire help or have some family live with me or super close by.
oh my...i could not even imagine.
Probally the feeding would be the hardest for me. I would just need much much much help. Here I thought I was losing my hair with 2 kids.
Keeping up with all the laundry and having enough hours in the day to spend with them all.My that would be hard...
All of the above and then some...OMG!
I don't think that woman will see a shower on her own for many years to come...what I mean is that there will always be someone at the door trying to get in or screaming...That and she will never get a moments rest....I sure hope that the cost of diapers (although I think that the diaper companies will come forward for them) comes down as does the wipes and formula prices....Wow...Eight babies...I have four girls all different ages and could not imagine them all being the same age as well as four more of them...Good Luck Lady...and Daddy....Wow I wonder how big she got....Hot tamale
I think I would loose my mind!!!
I know I would loose my mind! I go nuts when my 5 month old is screaming and I can't figure out how to make him stop (colic was rough on me) I can't imagine have 8 colicy infants at once. Poor thing! My heart goes out to her and her hubby (hopefully he likes babies cus she's gonna need all the help she can get!) I'd offer my babysitting services but I don't live in California.
Wow, I hope they all are doing well. With that many, growing all at once it is likely that a few got the bulk of the nutrition.
I just had my fourth child...all are less than 2 yrs apart. I am slightly insane...I cannot imagine having four additional children, not to mention 8 newborns! They'd have to admit me to the nut house.
