"Back when I was your age, I didn't have this 'Amazon Prime' to turn to when the family needed things!" Surely someone reading that sentence has heard their parents say something along these lines. Back then, any consumer packaged good was normally purchased in a brick-and-mortar store. This required someone getting in a car or walking to the nearest store -- taking time out of their day to complete the errand. Ah, the inconvenience. Now, these brick and mortars are going out of business, and generally having a hard time keeping up with the overhead of maintaining stores, warehouses, employees, and to accommodate delivery opportunities.
Enter: Amazon. The kingpin. Amazon is the largest e-commerce site in the world. What started as just an online bookstore, Amazon quickly expanded its portfolio to include videos, software, clothes, shoes, furniture, electronics, and so on. With Amazon, not only could someone order literally anything they wanted, but it was also to be delivered to their doorstep with absolutely no hassle. This opportunity ended the need to go to the store to get something and it also let people order what they need from one location and not multiple stores. The introduction of Amazon Prime in 2005 was a complete game-changer. For an annual fee, Amazon Prime subscribers could order -- again -- literally anything and get it on their doorstep in two days. (Some places even offer one-day delivery service.) For parents, this is a lifesaver. Life is simply too busy these days to find the time to head to the store to get something that's needed quickly.
With that, here's a fun list of 20 things parents should Prime right this minute.
