I just saw a photo of Minnie Driver over at Celebrity Baby Blog. She's pushing her baby stroller and walking her dog, and I'll bet anything her cell phone is about to go off. Kind of reminds me of my own life—except for the rich and famous part! So much to do, especially around the holidays, and so little time.
I've often got my baby in one hand, my phone crooked in my neck, while I'm working on my computer, and eating lunch, all while trying not to pee because I don't have time to get to the bathroom. I suspect Minnie might have some hired help to get her through her days—errands, laundry, things like that (she probably pees on her own)—but I sure don't. I'm still writing out Christmas cards, my house is a mess, and I haven't showered yet today.

Well, if this is "multi-tasking" than I a must be Superwoman! I have pushed a double stroller, with a child strapped to me in a sling while walking the dog and talking on the phone. She has nothing on me and most "real" moms.
Minnie Driver has it sooo easy!!! I have three kids under five and a VERY rambunctious lab.....I have pushed a stroller, pulled a wagon and walked the dog all the while talking on the phone to my sister..... YES.. That is multi tasking....I do however manage to get my shower and hair fixed for the day (most days) :o) LOL...I was making out Christmas cards yesterday and ..no joke....it took me 4 minutes to write a fairly short address at one time...My kids are needy some days!
I should take a shower right now, but i just put the baby down and i'm trying to make sure she is not waking up before i hit the shower...I should throw in a load of laundry though...maybe the dishes????...Jeez i also need to send out those xmas cards...AGH! gotta go!
I've had it pretty easy as well. I can do anything I need to do online with my son in my lap, he loves to sit there and look at the computer! I've become very proficient at typing with one hand. Otherwise, if he's not content to be otherwise occupied, I just don't do anything else. I figure he won't be letting me hold him too much longer so I just enjoy it as much as I can!
People always talk about how incredible all these celebrity moms are. Juggling a career and kids too. Especially Angelina Jolie! What people fail to focus on is that these people have hired help doing their laundry, cooking, bookkeeping, etc... As well as a nanny or 2, 3, 4... They have an entourage of people giving them a hand. I'm not saying they are devoted any less or love their children any less than we do. But, when they need help or a break, they have the means to get it. What I call a multi tasking, incredible mom are those women who truly are doing it all and making it work the best they are capable of and are still able to leave their children feeling respected, loved and adored. Those are the moms my hat goes off to!
FYI: I'm not in that league. I need to work on my patience and I am able to get help every now and then. I know a few women that aren't as lucky though and they are still incredible mothers.
