Big, Tough Football Player Defends Photo of Girlfriend Breastfeeding

ashley nicole breastfeedingYet another photo of a breastfeeding mama has gotten the Internets all riled up. This time it's the girlfriend of Miami Dolphins player Philip Weaver. Ashley Nicole posted a photo of herself breastfeeding their son, and captioned it: "Was on the way out the door but then mommy duty called... Everything stops for him! #breastisbest #natureisbeautiful." In her case, YES, nature is beautiful! So why are people giving Weaver such a hard time?

The linebacker told TMZ, "I wish everybody would just leave it alone ... She's a model. She takes pictures for a living." It's sweet of him to defend his girlfriend's photo like this. He wants to know why Ashley is getting heat, when Gisele was praised for the breastfeeding photo she posted. But from what I saw, Gisele got a lot of flack for her photo, too! So Ashley shouldn't feel alone in the backlash.

I hope she and Weaver are getting some love, too. I know there are breastfeeding moms out there who cheered when this photo went viral. I love how it shows Ashley in motion -- which is how it is with a lot of moms. You're on your way, about to do something, when your child's needs arise. So you're back on duty. Plus, that's a cool endorsement of on-demand feeding. She's still wearing her shades!

In fact, this is probably the hippest breastfeeding photo I've ever seen. If anything, this should inspire moms -- and dads! -- everywhere. Good for all three of them.

Do you think Ashley Nicole's photo is beautiful and inspiring, or TMI?

I think it's beautiful. Breast feeding is amazing to me. I am a breast feeding mom. I support it and other moms who breast feed.

That being said, as a mom, I've learned how we moms need to support each other. Not tear each other down.

Enough said!

Man, I wished I looked like that when my babies were that young!! The only reason I never posted any breast feeding pictures of myself is because I usually looked like a haggard mess, with crazy hair, under eye bags and the same pyjamas I had been wearing four a week.

Lmao just another attention whore. And she'll get it from all the treehuggers because 'it's a natural, beautiful thing.' That's fine and dandy, but when you look like you're going to a club, pull down your top and whip out your tit just to take a picture on your way out the door, that's begging for attention. If you're sitting down at home not all dressed up, and you want to take a picture (for whatever reason) of your boobs and baby, go ahead because it doesn't look like you're an attention whore.

This reminds me of nursing my 4 week old son.  On the way out the door and had to feed, so basically did the same thing she is doing.  I do not understand why people are so rude. She literally is just feeding her child like every other mom and doing a great job at it!

Looks like a cute pic they'll cherish for years!

Seems staged she's even posing..... Why? Just why did they need to take this pic it's obviously a pr stunt

This seems very different than Gisele. While I see nothing wrong with either the way she is posed is odd to me. Maybe I'm just used to my son who took 45 mins to an hour at each feeding so I couldn't think of standing unless I was moving from seat to seat. Hers just seems unnatural to me somehow.

I do love though how he is sticking up for her. That's how it should be!

Breastfeeding on the way out the door, still has on more clothes than half of Facebook's selfies!

Nothing says cute than a baby hanging off your boob...great pic...and I agree with Jozemom--wished I looked that when I fed my kids.  Never had moments like that at all until they became more self sufficient.
