As you may have heard, a little actress named Halle Berry gave birth over the weekend. She and sexy French husband Olivier Martinez welcomed a boy on Sunday at Cedars-Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles. A photo of the little cutie is yet to be released, but it's safe to say that he's gorgeous because, well, look at his parents.
Halle first caused a media frenzy a few months back when she announced that she was expecting at 47, but now that the babe is here, all anyone is concerned with is the name. And guess what? We've got it!
Initially, it was reported that Halle and Olivier were going to keep their son's name a secret for a while. Either that was just a rumor (In the press? Never!), or H and O are really bad at keeping secrets, because it's just been revealed that their little prince's name is Maceo-Robert Martinez. Maceo is Spanish (Olivier's father was a Spanish boxer), and it's pronounced "mah-say-oh." The name means "gift of God." Perfect.
After she revealed that she was expecting, Halle confessed that, just like everyone else, she was shocked. "This has been the biggest surprise of my life, to tell you the truth. Thought I was kind of past the point where this could be a reality for me. So it's been a big surprise and the most wonderful." So how could they have possibly gone with a name that had any other meaning? Unless there's a name that means "surprise of God."
Congrats Halle and Olivier! Can't wait for the little doll to make his debut. And love the name. And seriously love the meaning.
What do you think of Halle's baby name?
