It's only been three months since little North West's arrival, but that didn't stop Kim Kardashian and Kanye West from taking a trip to Paris without her in order to enjoy a little bit of kid-free time together as a couple.
A source told Us Weekly that it was pretty tough for Kim to leave the baby behind since this is the first time she's been away from her since her birth, which is a reaction any new mom has when going away without her infant.
But I'm sure by the time that plane landed in Paris, Kim and Kanye were both glad they took the plunge and decided to make the trip. It's something every mom and dad needs and deserves.
The first time I left my kid, he was right around 4 months old. I attended a conference with my husband in Orlando and left him with my parents in northeast Florida. Saying goodbye to him had to be one of the toughest things I'd ever done. I'm pretty sure I cried the entire way to the hotel, but then after I checked in and realized I could take a nap, read a book, or simply sit on my ass and stare at the wall for an hour or two, I got comfortable with the idea of being away from him pretty quickly.
And you know what? He was perfectly happy staying with my parents for a few days, and I'm honestly not even sure he realized I was gone -- because he was only 4 months old. I know some new parents may hesitate to leave their baby during the first year, but honestly, the earlier they do it, the better.
By taking this trip to France when North is only 3 months old, Kim and Kanye are doing themselves a huge favor. They will be able to enjoy the break so much more since separation anxiety probably hasn't kicked in quite yet. The older she gets, the more difficult hopping on a plane without her noticing is going to be, so they might as well take in the sights and sounds of the city, enjoy a few delicious French dinners, and get their romance on for a little while before heading home to the land of diapers and midnight feedings.
Have you left your baby yet for an adult trip?
