Kim Kardashian and Kanye West have been mercilessly slammed since revealing the name of their new baby girl. People just can't understand why in the world they would choose North West. Everyone has strong opinions about it -- including their own family members. During a recent sit-down on the The View, grandma Kris Jenner shares what she really thinks about the controversial name.
Barbara Walters was clearly hoping Kris wanted to skewer the name too, but no such luck. Kris may think the name is quirky but offered her full, unwavering support: "I'm pro North." She explained that to Kimye, North is the highest point and this baby represents their highest point together. Makes sense to me.
Also defending their choice in another interview, she said, "I think it's great. Why not? ... That’s what’s going on these days, lots of creative names.”
She's right. Think about all the crazy names other stars give their kids. Jason Lee named his son Pilot Inspektor, Forest Whitaker opted for Ocean for his little boy, chef Jamie Oliver picked Buddy Bear. And actor Rob Morrow chose Tu for his daughter. As in Tu Morrow. So really, is North so wacky compared to these?
Not that there was a chance Kris would be unsupportive of the name. That would be bad for the brand, I'm sure. Not to mention make an instant enemy out of Kanye (who I am sure came up with the idea). In any case, the most important thing, notes Kris, is that new mom Kim and the baby are healthy and happy.
Do you think Kris really likes the name North?
