Jeremy Renner Gives Baby Adorable Name, Making 'Map' Trend Official

jeremy rennerAvengers actor Jeremy Renner recently welcomed a baby girl with his girlfriend Sonni Pacheo, and like all celebrities, they gave her an adorably original name: Ava Berlin. According to a rep, the couple is "beyond thrilled" with their new addition, "mother and daughter are doing great", etc. etc. etc., blah blah blah -- let's discuss this cute name and how, clearly, "map names" are in.

Perhaps Victoria and David Beckham started the trend with their son, Brooklyn, but it seems like giving "map" first or middle names are all the rage these days. Kourtney Kardashian and Scott Disick gave daughter Penelope the middle name Scotland; Reese Witherspoon named her baby boy Tennessee James Toth; Nick Lachey and Kristin Cavallari both named their sons Camden (much to Kristin's dismay); and now Kim Kardashian and Kanye West are noodling over naming their child North. Or Easton. North West or Easton West.

Personally, I love this trend -- not only are "map" names adorable and original, it opens up a whole new world of ideas for great baby names. Street names; little towns you once visited; foreign cities; coordinates, apparently. You could find a million ideas from looking at the map of one state alone. Imagine the possibilities from a country map or, gadzooks, a world map. This is fantastic! Thanks, Rand McNally!

Unbookmark the baby name websites, everyone, atlases are where it's at. Love it. Oh, and congrats, Jeremy!

Where did you get your baby name inspiration?

I named my son Evan. Completely spaced that I lived on Evans ave. as a child so there you go but it's not so obvious unless I tell someone. It would have been obvious if I had named him Evans tho.

Mason... MasonsMommy1707

I have a Mason and Weston.

Mason City or Mason Dixon Line hah.  I also have a Jack which doesn't really fit.

Meghan Akers

I named my son Cole after my grandfather (whose last name is Coleman). It wasn't until we were filling out the baby shower invites that we realized we lived off Cole Rd.... He loves it, thankfully. "Hey, Mom, look, its my road!"

Amanda Cuate

I like it! At least it's not "Olive", "Honor", or "Rumor"

My son's name is Auburn Taylor, named by my husband & is perfect since I am a HUGE Auburn University fan. He came up with Taylor while sitting in a movie. My daughter's name is Michaela Raven. I got Michaela from Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman & Raven was her Great Grandfather's first name.

My sons name is Memphis Rylee! I didn't know two and a half years ago that we would be so on trend! And we picked it out of a book! Rylee was just bc I wanted something that sounded southern, and Lee is a family name, so it made sense :)

Melis... Melissa1508

I have Ava Catherine and Ruby Dulin, pronounced doo-lin, which is my mother in law's maiden name.
