Kristen Bell & Dax Shepard Welcome Baby Girl With Awesomely Unusual Name

Awww! 30

kristen bell dax shepardAfter what seems like a pregnancy eternity, Dax Shepard and Kristen Bell welcomed a baby girl on Thursday, who they adorably named Lincoln Bell Shepard. The Veronica Mars star and her fiance are, obviously, over-the-moon with their healthy new addition, and have already joked on Twitter about their sweet, little babe. Shepard wrote: "Lincoln Bell Shepard is here. She has mom’s beauty and dad’s obsession with breasts. Hooray!!!" while Kristen tweeted: "My new roommate poops her pants and doesn’t pay rent ... basically Dax pre-sobriety. Welcome baby Lincoln."

How adorable is the name the couple chose? Lincoln. Loving that. And I think it's great that it sounds more like a boy's name than a girl's.

If I were a betting woman, I'd say Dax and Kristen may be starting a new trend here: Last names as first names, and even more specifically, presidential last names as first names. How awesome would the name Obama be for a little girl? Or Bush? Just kidding. But Roosevelt, Carter, Monroe, and McKinley would be pretty dang cute.

Congrats to Dax and Kristen on their healthy and assumingly adorable baby girl. (Can't wait to see pics!) And hope Kristen's labor and delivery weren't too scarring -- the actress joked with Ellen back in January: "I feel like, when I arrive at the hospital, I want a glass of whiskey, I want the epidural in my back, and I want to get hit in the face with a baseball bat. Wake me up when it's over because I've seen the videos -- and it looks terrifying."

Wasn't that bad, was it, Kristen?

Do you like the name Lincoln?

Lincoln is my son's name. Hate that it's becoming popular all of a sudden.

Presidential last names for girls have been a thing for some time already--Reagan?  Kennedy?  My old boss's granddaughter was named Lincoln well over a year ago, in fact.  Although Carter still seems to be more popular among boys right now...

I don't like it for a girls name. But, congrats to the couple!

I like how Kristen's last name is the baby's middle name. That's cute.

Cute! Always been a Dax fan. My boys have surnames for firsts as well. Gage and Tyson. We just liked them. Congrats to the new parents!

People have already named their daughters Kennedy so this is not a new trend.

I personally would not choose a boys name for a girl but if that's what they chose great for them! Congrats on having a baby!

Don't like it. Boy's names for girls, last names for first mehhhhhh. I think it's more meaningful and special to name after a loved one or to, I dunno, take the kid's feelings into consideration and give them a name that won't cause them to be made fun of. it's funny because I am usually very eccentric and love to be different but I think that should be up to the person whether they'd like to be quirky or different. just like on my choice to not baptize, I will teach about religion to my kids but it's theyre choice to be baptized as an adult...but that's a whole other can of worms.
