Baby Being 'French Kissed' by Bulldog Is Nothing Short of Disgusting (VIDEO)

OMG 31

bulldog licking baby

Blech! Gross! Ick! Gag!

Those were a few of my initial reactions after viewing a video of a bulldog licking a baby's face in an effort to gobble up any remaining scraps of food left around (or in) his mouth.

I know dogs are part of the family, and I love dogs just as much as the next person. But having a soft spot for dogs and finding a dog slobbering all over an infant to be cute and endearing are two entirely different things.

Heck, even the dad feeding the baby in the video seemed pretty freaked out that his dog kept shoving his tongue in his baby's mouth.

Maybe you'll understand where I'm coming from a bit better after watching the clip. Here it is.

OMG. Disgusting, right?

Yes, doggie kisses can be sweet and all -- but this particular dog went way beyond giving that baby a few tender laps of the tongue.

As the dad said, he pretty much "French kissed" the poor kid.

And even though the baby didn't seem to mind one bit, I just can't seem to warm up to the idea of a dog's tongue being all over a baby's mouth and face.

I don't have a dog, nor did I have a dog when my son was a baby, but somehow I'm about 150 percent sure I would not have wanted him to have his face licked by a dog if we'd had one.

Um, duh -- dogs lick themselves all day long in places where the sun don't shine. As in they lick their private parts and their butts (just in case the first visual wasn't graphic enough for you).

And we have enough to worry about as far as our babies coming into contact with various germs without throwing whatever sort of bacteria happens to be residing on a dog's tongue into the mix. We are constantly making sure our babies don't put random things into their mouths -- and that should definitely include saliva from the family pet, don't you think?

Am I overreacting, here? Do you let your dog lick/kiss your baby?

Kids puyt worse things in their mouth. Do you know what is all over your ground or the public table you sit at and your baby touches it then sticks their hand in their mouth? I bet the dogs mouth is cleaner then most things people normally touch every day.

My baby cousin French kisses my dog all the time, it's cute. Id much rather have a lick from a dog than a baby.

I thought a dogs mouth was cleaner than a humans?

Obviously the dad wasn't to concerned about it other wise the kid would be dog level while eating. Second of all a lot of bulldogs can't bend their bodies to lick themselves where the sun don't shine all day. Third babies are huge germ factories! Really a bulldog licks aren't going to hurt.

They lick their own anus. Enough said.

After reading the article I was afraid of what I was going to see in the video! But that was totally adorable. Bulldogs can NOT lick their own butts, it's physically impossible. My daughter and bulldog have done this before and I'm sure it will happen again... every day... for the next couple of years at least... they love each other, my daughter opens her mouth and sticks her tongue out when the dog kisses her. I love that they love each other, people who freak out about something like this are going to make their kids afraid of animals.

I find this to be gross. Dogs lick their bodies and disgusting things off the floor.

Babys lick things off the floor and pull stuff out of their diaper and paint themselves with it.

Dogs mouths are alot cleaner than most surfaces that babies touch. Kids get sick all the time because of people being such germaphobes and sanitizing everything all the time. The kids bodies aren't aloud to build up immunities and their immune systems are shot. The dog licking the baby is completely innocent and there is no harm to the baby. Calm down.

It wasn't that bad. Actually nothing short of the norm. The baby was going to the dog and the dog wasn't hurting the baby. The baby didn't cry. I don't see the big deal.
