Holly Madison Gives Birth to a Baby Girl & Her Name Will Confuse You

Awww! 35

holly madisonFormer Playboy Playmate Holly Madison gave birth to a baby girl in Las Vegas, Nevada on March 5. The little one weighed in at 7 pounds, 2 ounces, and naturally, she and beau Pasquale Rotella are overjoyed.

Madison checked into the hospital yesterday -- her due date -- and told Us Weekly: "We have decided to induce the delivery if necessary. I will go in Monday afternoon or early evening." Meanwhile, after baby was born, Pasquale told the magazine: "I've never been more in love than I am today as, after months of waiting, I finally was able to hold my daughter for the first time. Holly and I are looking forward to spending some quiet time with our baby and enjoying our new family. I'm truly the luckiest man in the world."

Now, for what you're all waiting for. The name ...

The couple reportedly hasn't picked one yet! Madison said: "Pasquale and I welcomed our first child, a baby girl! We haven't yet decided on a name for her but we couldn't be any more overjoyed than at this moment."

I think it's cool when couples don't name their son or daughter before mama gives birth. I did, as I knew what my child's name was going to be, should she be a girl, years before I was even pregnant. (I know.) But I think there's something to be said for "getting to know" your little one a bit before naming them -- even if it's only for a few hours. You can see which name suits them best.

Holly and Pasquale likely have a few name options for their girl in the hopper. They probably just want to spend some much-needed quality time with their baby for a bit and see which one is most "her". We all put so much focus on the name of the child, but the most important thing is that baby is happy and healthy (which she is!). Congrats, Holly and Pasquale. (But, seriously, we're dying to know the name!)

Did you decide upon your baby's name before he or she was born?

I knew what my first daughter's name would be years before she was even born.

I'm 38 weeks and I have no idea what to name her! Hopefully after I meet her I hear the name that is "the one" because I sure haven't yet lol..

I agree with the others about the title...but that's common on the stir...I only expect the title to give me a vague idea of what the opinion piece will be about these days.

My dd didn't have a name until she was 15 hrs old. We just spent the first day with her and then figured it out.

My husband and I did not decide on any of the names until the day of delivery and with one, the day after. We didn't discuss names, either. We simply went by traditional religious practices and picked a name from the list of Saints commemorated on that day. Worked out perfectly for us. No arguments! To each their own.

I had at least 10 names picked out & it wasn't until the day I left the hospital that my son was named. I love his name & he loves it too.

My children's names were selected before I gave birth.

We pick out names before birth, but don't tell anyone since we reserve the right to change our minds should the baby pop out and it becomes clear s/he was just not meant for a prepicked name.
