Nick Lachey and wife Vanessa (Minnillo) Lachey welcomed the birth of their first child Camden John Lachey last September, and it seems as though the 98 Degrees singer has enjoyed singing lullabies to their son. He’s enjoyed it so much that he’s releasing an album so that his crooning can soothe other babies too.
And by other babies, I mean other mommies. Because let’s be honest -- the kids probably don’t care who’s singing, so long as they’re getting snuggles from mama during the bedtime routine. But women of baby-making age are the perfect target audience for this album.
I’m 30, which is right smack-dab in the middle of the “typical” childbearing years of 25 to 35, which means I was in high school in the late '90s during the boy band heyday. Yes, I did have a crush on Nick Lachey, why do you ask?
Which means I will buy this album. Because what’s better than the most crushable boy band member? That boy all grown up and loving on his beautiful son. What is it about dudes with babies that is so hawt?
Anyway, A Father’s Lullaby includes 12 songs that Lachey has sung to Camden, including "All Through the Night," "Godspeed (Sweet Dreams)," and "Baby Mine." There are also four original tracks written by Lachey.
The album will be released on iTunes and Amazons on March 13, and a physical release will follow in April.
Will you be purchasing Lachey’s lullaby album for your kids yourself?
