Lily Allen and husband Sam Cooper welcomed their second baby -- another girl -- in London on January 8. Lily, who is already mum to 1-year-old daughter Ethel Mary, didn't initially acknowledge this pregnancy to the press, but recently the singer became quite vocal on Twitter regarding her impending due date. On New Year's Day she tweeted: "Thought I was in labor but I just need to fart"; and then three days later, when she still hadn't popped, she wrote: "3rd curry this week. (Spicy food is sometimes suggested to help induce labor naturally.) Nothing. #cozywomb"
And now for what you're waiting for: The name.
Lily's second daughter is named Marnie Rose Cooper. Cute! And a perfect complement to Ethel Mary. Both girls' first and middle names are sort of throwback. And if you ask me, a two-syllable name always goes great with a one-syllable middle name. It flows off the tongue. And, hey, I can't think of any other celeb kids with the name Marnie -- can you?
Apparently, Lily and Sam's second pregnancy wasn't planned. A source told the Daily Mail, who first broke the story: "It was a surprise but Lily and Sam are thrilled. The pair of them have loved every minute of parenthood so far and wanted to expand their brood quickly. So it's great timing."
Awesome. Congrats, guys. And cute name!
What do you think of Lily's new daughter's name?
