When my children were toddlers, I would have done anything to get them to stop crying. My second daughter was colicky and I nearly lost my mind. I spent many hours standing near a running shower rocking my baby, burning out the motor in my vacuum cleaner, and running the fan on high to create some white noise to stop my baby from crying. I would have done anything to give them relief even if that meant listening to PSY's "Gangnam Style" on repeat.
When I saw this video of these gorgeous little babies who instantly stopped crying at the sound of PSY’s "Gangnam Style", I thought, Let’s issue this single to every new mother when we’re giving her that breastfeeding talk. I’m not sure what the hell PSY is saying or if Gangnam Style is Korean for “I’m the baby whisperer,” all I know is it works.
Who knows? Maybe PSY is speaking baby and telling them that if they stop crying, the sky will rain breast milk, or if they eat their nasty baby food, it will taste like chocolate. Maybe PSY is brainwashing the babies of the world with his Gangnam Style rhythm? I’m picturing cartoonish black and white swirls where baby blue eyes used to be.
Whatever PSY is doing with his slicked back hair and outrageously styled suits, it works. The pony dance is really sort of hypnotic. If I knew this was all it took, my life would have been so much easier in the baby years. Rock on Baby whisperer.
PSY’s "Gangnam Style" is catchy. It’s no wonder his YouTube video has set a Guinness World Record for most views. There are a lot of crying babies out there and a lot of desperate parents who want to soothe them.
Do you love "Gangman Style" as much as these adorable little ones?
