Finally, some good news for Giuliana and Bill Rancic. Last night, at 10:12 p.m., the couple welcomed their very first child into the world -- a baby boy -- via surrogate in Denver, Colorado. The little cutie weighed in at 7 pounds, 4 ounces.
A few months ago, Bill and Giuliana mentioned that they planned on giving their child a traditional name -- none of that trendy Hollywood nonsense. And a traditional name they have given. The littlest Rancic has a name -- and a middle name -- fit for royalty.
And, no, it's not William.
Edward Duke Rancic is what the little one will be going by. Perhaps Wills -- the Duke of Cambridge -- was the inspiration? Whatever their influence, the name is adorable.
I love it when celebs decide to go with conventional names, and I really love the name Duke. I've gotta be honest, before I found out I was having a girl, trying to come up with boys' names was rough. I could think of a million-and-one girl names, but was completely stumped when it came to boys. If I have another child, and it winds up being a boy, Duke is definitely going into the pile. How could you not like a dude named Duke?
Anyway, big congrats to Giuliana and Bill. May everything that follows the birth of their son be joyous and uneventful (in a good way). Nobody deserves this more than them.
And, hey, thanks for the name idea!
Do you like the name Bill and Giuliana chose?

Really, PatMcBison, that's a rather hurtful comment. Who sh*t in your cereal this morning?
Pat, she had someone carry their baby for them. It was his sperm and her egg.
