Since Jessica Simpson has basically had the most public pregnancy ever (EVER!), I guess it's no surprise the new mom is pimping out the very first pics of baby daughter Maxwell Drew Johnson for big dollars. BUT HOW MANY DOLLARS?! As many as Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were paid for first shots of twins Vivienne and Knox? Nope, not $14 million. As much moulah as Jennifer Lopez scored for introductory images of twins Emme and Maximillian? Nope, not $6 million either.
Really, it's an embarrassingly small sum. A pittance! NOT.
Okay, I won't keep you in suspense any longer. People magazine paid Simpson and husband Eric Johnson ...
$800,000 for first pics of little Maxwell.
Just in case you like to pretend you're Jessica Simpson's private accountant, if you combine that number with the reported $3 to $4 million deal Simpson made with Weight Watchers to shed those post-preggers pounds? You get ... a whole lotta money from one itty bitty baby.
Here's the thing: Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt donated that $14 million to charity. All of it. JLo, to the best of my knowledge, did not -- which, let's face it, was a tacky move. I mean, Jenny from the Block ain't broke no more. Blue Ivy's Tumblr debut was a really cool and classy thing for Beyonce and Jay-Z to do, I thought (they refused to sell the pics).
Jessica Simpson, on the other hand, isn't donating the proceeds from Maxwell's pics to charity (as far as anyone knows). So I've got to say she's hitchin' a ride on JLo's Train du Tacky. All aboard!
In related news, I'm thinking of applying to Jessica Simpson for a personal loan.
Do you think it was tacky for Jessica Simpson to sell first shots of baby Maxwell?

Maxwell is a horrible name. Also J-ho is a greedy woman. No surprise Jessica Simpson would do the same. I think the celebs that sell pics of their kids are shallow. At Least Jessica should use that money for a college fund for her child.
Jessica is the head of a billion dollar clothing empire and she can't/won't donate the money to charity?
Yeah.... I think that's tacky.
She doesn't even need the money to put aside for the baby's future. Baby's pretty set already.
It always turns me off when celebrities make money off of having kids and don't donate it.
I don't think it's any of our business. Wouldn't you if you could?
Anyone who could make millions off of something as simple as selling a photo of their kid, would fucking do it. Cut the shit people. You know if someone walked in your house up to a portrait of your kid and offered you a million dollars to put it on the cover of a monthly magazine, you'd freakin' do it. Knock it off.
As for what she's doing with the money, her business completely. It's not your money. She also could be doing something for her baby with it, but she doesn't have to report everything she does to any of you.
hey her baby her deal..she won't be famous forever. Better on her terms than some stupid TMV azz taking some.
some of you need to realize celebs have been selling their kids baby pictures to magazines for nearly 75 years so it's not about to change now. and what Jessica got was actually 850,000 which isn't anything to sneaze at but it's nothing to write home about either big enough stars have gotten 3 million dollars or more for the first pics of their kids since the mid 1960's when the first pictures of Carlo Nero were published in the March 21st 1970 issue of Life Magazine life paid 4.825.000 for the publishing rights to the photos granted his mom is legendary british actress Vanessa Redgrave and she knew the public wanted to see her baby boy just as they had wanted to see her two daughter when they were babies. if you don't like celebs selling pics of their kids to magazines don't buy the magazine
Hey if someone gave me money for pics of my kids, I would take it., whether I needed it or not. But thats not why I have kids or would have more kids. Its her money, she can do what she wants with it. Who's to say in a few years she comes across a cause and donates a lot of money too, or helps out her childs friends by putting them through college or something.
