Baby Meets Lemon in Adorable Showdown (VIDEO)

It's true about the lemons in a restaurant...they are covered with germs, often fecal bacteria. I've even seen the wait staff take orders, clear dirty dishes, smoke a cigarette and then go cut lemons for garnish without washing their hands. Often the lemons sit around in a container that everyone reaches into as well. 

Feed the lemons to your kids at home. Remember to wash the fruit *and* your hands before cutting the fruit too! :) 

Nothing deadly is going to be on a restaraunt lemon. Kids eat things off of thar floor and put everything in their mouths. If you wouldn't give you baby a lemon from there, why would u eat or drink anything else from that kitchen?

Let me clarify. I don't like practical jokes, I do not find them funny. I am not someone that does. I am not devoid of a sense of humor there are just some things that I choose not to do. I choose to teach my children (and I have three of them, so I have gone through the entire introducing foods process, thanks =)) to treat others how they wish to be treated. What message then would I be sending by giving my baby a lemon just to see the adorable pain filled face they make? Sure lemons are most definitely fruits, but that is not why you're giving it to your kid, is it? No it's to have a laugh, and I'm sorry, I find that wrong, I find it something that I personally choose not to do as I think it undermines and takes advantage the absolute trust your baby has for you. Sorry if that's not funny to me. 

My mom gave me a lemon wedge when I was about that age. She called my dad over to watch but I disappointed them & gobbled them all up. I still eat lemons like that, they taste sweet to me. I'll juice them & sip the juice. Yum. My daughter is 4 months and I can't wait to see her reaction.

@zyva - lemons are not going to ruin the trust your baby has for you. You sound like a stick-in-the-mud. The baby went back for more by choice . It's good, not poo. Shut it puhleeze Debby Downer! (that baby is ugly tho)

I don't get most of you, I have to agree with Zyva here for several reasons. First though, I don't care what anyone does with their children unless it's abuse. Your choices how to raise your children are you own. That said comes the topic for my first reason agreeing with Zya; choice. This is all about choice. It's a good thing to introduce new foods to your children as early as possible in an effort to expand their pallet at an early age and push healthy foods, taking the time to research if the food is safe at their age. Some are not at some ages. Also only after an allergy test. Now if you are doing this, you are doing it for the reason and in the ways I just mentioned right? If not then you are doing it for your own amusement at the expense of your newborn. When does this stop though? When the child is grown up and does not trust or like you because you've continued exploiting their trust for your own amusement all their lives? Or when they get it in their heads it's acceptable to do this to others and turns into the school bully? (TBC)

(Cont) Admittedly it's a stretch but we're talking about the butterfly effect; in other words, escalation. So again, when does that exploitation end? No worries if doing it for the right reasons and the right way, which brings us full circle to choice again. Either the child likes it or doesn't. If they don't then don't continue providing that food and move on to other things. Ultimately this one thing on it's own would not harm the child physically or psychologically in the long term if you do everything else right. But how do you know you are if you are doing one thing wrong and believe it a fact that you are doing it right? Now that point just goes into an endless cycle of psychological belief that one's opinion is fact when it's not. Which is why I am presenting multiple perspectives and angles and opinions on this. The simple fact is, Zyva's point is as valid as any others and needs to be considered on a more serious level. You are all readily inclined to believe eachother because you all agree, why can't someone disagree and not have a valid point or opinion? I know I talk too much but at least I've said all I can on the subject.

My Dad thought it would be funny to give my oldest a lemon to try. She made the funny face and I ripped him a new one. Then we went to his mothers house where I dealt with my DD's tummy ache and my Grandma (Dads mom) ripped into him again. His funny joke gave his granddaughter a stomach ache and and made him feel like an ass.
