Sweet Cat Soothes Crying Baby With Paw (VIDEO)

cat and baby You know how some people just have a way with babies? They see one crying, pick him up, do some soothing magic, and all of a sudden the child you thought would never stop screaming is suddenly serene. Call them baby whisperers or what you will, but some people just have the magic touch with babies. And so it seems does at least one cat.

What the cat does in this video is one of the sweetest and craziest things I've seen in a long time. This brand-new little baby, Connar, is all fussy in his bouncy seat. Stewie the cat is making me nervous as he's got his paws awfully close to the little guy. Stewie looks a little annoyed, and I was worried he might scratch him or something. Instead, he starts stroking the baby's forehead, and funny enough, the baby stops fussing. Watch for yourself.

Is that one rad cat or what? They seriously need to breed Stewie and start marketing those cats to new parents. Can you imagine just sending the cat in during the middle of the night when the baby fusses? I'm not much of a cat person, but I would so sign up for a cat like that.

You never know how animals are going to react when new babies are brought home. Sometimes they get jealous and act out in destructive and perhaps dangerous ways, but usually the pets adapt and end up loving the kids and visa versa. My guess is Stewie and Connor are going to be pals for a long time.

Seems sweet, but I guarantee you Stewie is thinking, "STFU kid!" =)

My pets did really well adapting to my daughter. Even my evil cat, who died this past spring, was very gentle and sweet to her. My skittish cat still avoids her, but she avoids just about anything, including the dog that she has lived with for 9 years.

Very sweet. Still... I dont trust animals around a newborn. However my old dog we put down this past april was REALLY protective over me when I was pregnant. And then after Elliot was born. I was apprehensive but my mother convinced me it was okay. STILL. Id be careful.

Heck yeah, Stewie is declawed. If not, that baby would have really been screaming because anyone who has lived with a cat can see that Sweet Stewie probably isn't so sweet at all. There was even a near nip at the baby's head! I love cats, and mine own beloved kitty is as fiesty as they come, but I'd never let her bat at a baby's head like that. Declawed or not, cats can hurt a baby.

Yeah, have owned several cats in my lifetime and 'sweet' stewie was fixing to attack the annoying creature. declawed as his paws were extended and if he weren't little connar would have been screaming.

Nothing sweet about this video. Child calmed on it's own.

No no no no... new mom paranoia here. Cats like to sleep on warm places and I've read of them laying on a newborns head and suffocating them because the baby isn't strong enough to move them off.

Plus, I'm allergic to cats. Plus my friend's allergists office has posters warning about cats and babies... apparently it's good to expose children to most germs and allergens but not cats. Get the cat away from the baby.

Seems like the kid was just fussing around...probably just woke itself up and was falling back asleep. The cat just happened to be there and was curious about this thing making noise. Nothing special about this video. Just coincidence.

This is adorable. We never had problems with my pets with either of my kids when they came home, but I saw just last night, when my aunts step-daughter brought her newborn baby over, major pet jealousy. My aunt was holding the baby and her dog was so jealous. And then when she handed the baby back to momma and went back to try to pet the dog, the dog didn't want anything to do with her.
