Are Boy Babies More Disgusting Than Girl Babies?

Smelly Feet
Oddly, this is something that comes up in our house a lot: Who is more disgusting, boys or girls? Since I am a girl, and have a boy husband, and we have two children (one boy and one girl) it's an endless source of entertainment to discuss. So far, we're going with boys, based on the two that live in our home. Periods notwithstanding, the girls in this crew just seem a bit cleaner, and less oogy.

This is a fact, I believe, that starts at birth. Yes, even your little bitty angel boys are disgusting. So I took an informal poll of my friends with the babies, and here are my non-scientific findings.

Boys are totally more disgusting. With one exception (a baby girl who likes to pull her outie belly button out even further), the baby boys seem to have already developed some pretty disgusting habits. One friend says her baby boy grunts in his sleep. Another has a drooler, and personally, my baby boy seemed to poop twice as much as his sister ever did.

You know what else is gross about baby boys? Foreskin. With all the uncirc'd kids around town, you or your best girlfriend is cleaning out some baby foreskin in her spare time. Although it's not quite on par with adult foreskin, and quite frankly, not any more gross than cleaning off a regular old penis. Cleaning a penis is just icky. Sorry guys, but it is. And with boys being slower on the potty training than girls, you're also going to get a lot more years of icky.

Even before the boys develop that foot and underarm odor, even before the skid marks on the underwear, even the male babies just have a funk. I'm betting if there was ever a study about that baby smell, scientists would discover that it wears off much faster on boys than girls. Just sayin'.

Do you have a disgusting baby boy?

You're not supposed to mess with the foreskin until it retracts on its own.

Just for the record, you shouldn't retract the foreskin on a baby boy.  Doing so actually increases the risk of infection- it's meant to form a seal to keep bacteria out.  Once it retracts on it's own (which can take a few years) it can be retracted for cleaning- and by then it can be the child doing the cleaning and not you!

I never noticed a difference in 'disgusting' levels between my male and female children- though my son did manage to pee on us more than our daughters did!

I always love it when people take these things seriously. And, really ladies, who are you kidding? Babies are disgusting.

I have 3 sons and a husband and I think boys of any age are gross. But they are all so darn cute that I dont mind too much.

LOL!  This is so funny, I agree my son is WAY more gross than his sister ever was!  She was a perfect little princess who hated to be dirty and needed to wash her hands all the time...my son on the other hand, it seems like I have to bathe him 2-3 times per day, more if he's having his bowel issues.

Right. There is no cleaning involved in baby foreskin. You what is disgusting? Moms who cut off parts of their kids and then try to make themselves feel better by talking out of their b-holes.

Really? I HATE changing girl diapers, it grosses me out & theres so much more wiping to do. Blah. Boys take like a minute to change. Only gross thing about my boy is that he has sweaty feet already at 3, his socks get SOAKED in no time. And yeah, my sons uncircumcised and I havnt had any problem with cleaning foreskin. Your not supposed to touch it until theyre actually 5 or 6 and can teach them to pull it back themselves so its pretty easy to keep clean...unlike a girls little area. Drooling & grunting isnt gross btw its cute ;)

Boys are much grosser! Drooling, Sweating, and thinking tooting is funny! lol My 2 year old boy is way worse than my 3 year old girl...

Boys may be more gross, but girls are by far the worst! I'll take the 'funk' over the high pitched screams, pissy fits, mood swings, pms as they get older... 'funk' doesn't seem so bad in the long run to me. :)

& I agree with Sarah, I too HATE changing girl diapers! so much more to worry about. :p

Yes, changing a girl baby's diaper is much worse than a boy baby's... foreskin or not.

And then dealing with a tween and her first periods, yucky body hair, and pms... omg.
