Lauryn Hill Has Baby #6 Amid Daddy Drama

Singer Lauryn Hill gave birth to her sixth child this past weekend, but her boyfriend of 15 years and the father of her other five children, Rohan Marley, was nowhere to be found. What is it with dads skipping town and then shacking up with Brazilian supermodels

It reeks of Tom Brady and Gisele Bundchen, no? The baby, a boy, is healthy after a scare where the umbilical cord was wrapped around his neck, but if Marley is the father, his Twitter account says otherwise.

Today Marley tweeted:

I'm forwarding all well wishes to Ms. Hill on the birth of her new son. I'm sure she'll appreciate the love being sent to her.

So why the mystery? He has been with 28-year-old Brazilian model Isabeli Fontana, according to rumor, but he is also still legally married to Geraldine Khawly.

Regardless of whether he is the father, which is a question we can't possibly answer without more information, it's completely inappropriate for him to be tweeting as much as he is about his personal life.

When asked about the baby via Twitter on Saturday, he tweeted:

Ms. Hill is the mother of my children, whom I have a tremendous amount of love and respect for. I would never do that. The nature of our relationship [is] something we don't expect people who spread gossip for a living to fully understand.

OK, that makes sense. He doesn't want to spill his private life all over. But it runs completely contrary to what he tweeted last month in regards to questions about the baby:

2 things, I'm not married and I don't have anyone expecting anything.

So which is it? Is he intensely private or a chronic over-sharer? It looks like the latter to me.

The couple's other children are Zion, 14, Selah, 13, Joshua, 9, John, 8, and Sarah, 3. He may very well not be the dad and that is fine. But either way, it's completely inappropriate for him to be discussing it via Twitter. How do the other five children feel about their dad badmouthing their mother that way? Even if she cheated and the baby isn't his, he needs to keep a little privacy. Airing it all out via Twitter is pretty low.

Let's hope the new baby gets a little more respect from whomever his real dad might be.

Do you think he should be discussing this on Twitter?
