5 Celebrities Celebrating Their First Mother's Day

The first Mother's Day is such an important milestone in the life of any mom (and baby, too!). I still remember mine so well and my husband worked hard to make it extra memorable.

Since then, they have always been nice, but that first one is such a magical time. You are still caught in the happiness of new motherhood and, ideally, you are also so relieved that the pregnancy went well and your baby is healthy and you all have each other and are now a family.

Obviously, every year, dozens of celebrities also celebrate their first Mother's Days and this year is no exception. In fact, with the Hollywood baby boom, this is a particularly strong year for celebs celebrating their first Mother's Days. Here are a few:

Rachel Zoe:  Famous for her weight almost as much as she is for her style, Zoe allowed herself to gain the weight possible to give birth to a healthy baby boy named Skyler Berman on March 24, 2011. Alongside a photo of her beautiful son she posted on her website, she also posted a caption: "My life is complete." Awww....

Melissa Rycroft: She may or may not qualify as a celebrity in your book, but after being dumped on The Bachelor and then dominating Dancing with the Stars, she did manage to make the cover of a lot of magazines and is now in broadcasting and presenting. On February 16, 2011, she and her husband Tye Strickland had a daughter they named Ava Grace.

Christina Applegate: She kicked breast cancer in the rear and spoke about it openly to help other women. The days of Kelly Bundy silliness are over and Applegate is a pretty amazing advocate. On February 1, 2011 she and her fiance gave birth to a daughter they named Sadie Grace. "It was the best thing that's ever happened to me," She said in People Magazine,

Alicia Keys: Keys and her new husband singer Swizz "Kaseem Dean" Beatz had a baby boy they named Egypt Dean on October 14, 2010.

Alanis Morissette: Though Singer Alanis Morissette was open about the fact that their baby was a surprise, she was thrilled to be a mom when she and her husband, rapper Mario "Souleye" Treadway had their first son they named Ever Imre Morissette on December 25, 2010.
