Joni of Lay Baby Lay put together a beautiful nursery for her baby, Vivien Charles Lay (such a great name!). I think this nursery is one my personal favorites among those I've posted here. Really, really lovely.
I originally saw a peek of this room on Little Lovely and immediately reached out to Joni to say: more photos please. She generously shared and now we all get to see some up close shots of the fabulous details.

I'm especially digging the color scheme here. The color on the walls hits that perfect note between aqua and mint. Also. Make sure to notice the charming birdcage card holder.

The subtle, modern print on the crib bedding is lovely. It fits in so nicely that you almost don't even notice it. I love design like that. The pretty paper bunting was a DIY project.

I hadn't seen this hand knit mobile by Blabla Kids before and now I'm dying over the sweetness.

Such a great mix of modern lines and antiques curves. I love what the chevron rug does for the space.

The way Joni has introduced the color black into the room is smart and impressive to me.

There are sweet personal touches throughout the room that prevent it from feeling like it was plucked out of a catalog. Vintage snapshots and little quotes with personal meaning. Love that.

Here's baby Vivi herself -- the tiny irresistable pink bundle in the middle of the crib. Of course, she's all grown up now. : )

The gallery display is brilliantly done. Asymmetric, but balanced. Those frames bring it all together. You can find details about this particular display here.

A great big internet thank you to Joni for sharing Vivian's nursery with us. It has my brain buzzing with all sorts of ideas.

Beautiful! I love the old victorian dressors, well done.
I adore the color scheme in here. It's so unique and yet so girly. I can't figure out what it 'cold and sterile' to me it is so lovely.
It's beautiful! I love the color combinations. I do agree about the penant from the crib not being a very safe idea, unless that's just the "welcome home" sign. I've never been fond of the Blabla mobiles, because mostly, they are just blah. Babies react to bright, highly contrasting colors, which the mobile is not. And the rug is a little too jarring for me, but I bet a baby would love it! LOVE LOVE LOVE the color combinations!!! Pink rooms are highly overrated.
What a totally unique and beautiful nursery!! You are right Ms Blair, I am completely jealous!
looks lovely like a darling quaint little gift shop... if you want your baby feeling like a piece of merchandise rather than having an environment that nurtures growth, exploration and creativity....silly me I thought the nursery was supposeto filled with baby toys and books and a place for baby to crawl... BUT yes if you are going for someplace to showoff this is certainly a showpiece for your latest accessory.
What a disgusting bunch of commenters
How many people were flawless and perfect when they had their children? Never did anything that was unsafe and didn't realize?
Even if you did, just because the blogger said that you'd be jealous, does not warrant an attack on the parents. How do some of you feel when called a bad parent? How would some of you feel seeing a bunch of people trash you as a parent and trash your child's name?
Just a bunch of trashy, horrible people who will raise horrible kids. Hopefully your crappiness won't rub off on them.
And kisses, you are ridiculous. There's a whole house for the baby to explore in. My own child mostly sleeps in his room and spends the rest of the time playing. The baby isn't going to feel like a showcase. All it knows is that it's hungry and poopy.
Dumbass.
Fabulous use of color! It's completely cheery and vibrant, great for influencing imagination. I really like the picture wall, too, mixing photos with word collage. LOVE the use more sophisticated textiles and furniture and not the typical nursery matchy-match, cookie cutter, BORING we usually see.
Fantastic middle name! My daughters also have names many call too male. They can carry it!
The colors are fabulous. The look is fabulous. I want it!
I think I have the rest the rest of the house to reflect my personal style. The Baby's room needs to be more baby like. I also think callig a poster "dumbass " i s the one of the most rude things I have read. The coment was perfectly valid and one I think a lot of us agree with. Resorting to name caling like really shows who the "dumbass" is I hop while child is growing up in your house you are not passing on your pissy attiude on to it. Or is that how conversation goes in your world? "Mommy I think this" Really you think that? well then ylou are dunb ass?" NICE But then you are a Gamer mom so perahps reality is not your strong suit.
