The 15-minutes-of-fame "Icecreamists" ice cream parlor had an awesome buzz over their breast milk ice cream until it all melted when bogus health concerns shut them down. Now they're really going to be hurting because Lady Gaga is suing them for using her likeness.
Okay, I get that. They called it "Baby Gaga" and had women dressed up like her serving it, but that's not the part that gets me annoyed at Lady Gaga.
She, yes, Mother Monster, called the breast milk ice cream "nausea-inducing."
Are. You. KIDDING ME?!
The woman who wore a meat dress finds breast milk ice cream disgusting?
Let's not forget that this breast milk ice cream comes from women who get a blood screen, and the practice Icecreamists used was arguably (okay maybe?) held to stricter standards than how we get cow's milk. Breast milk is safer and has less chemicals and hormones than cow's milk ... yet people drink and eat cow's milk ice cream every single day and it's considered "normal." But THIS is what someone like Lady Gaga calls gag-worthy?
Pardon me a second ... *deep breath* My common sense was crying out in pain.
Even worse, she calls it "deliberately provocative."
Yeah, because you know, she's so modest and never tries to be provocative or shocking, right? Um, hello! She "gave birth" in the video for "Born This Way."
Icecreamists owner, Matt O'Conner, shares my shock at the blatant hypocrisy. He says:
As for her assertion that our product is distasteful, perhaps she should reflect on her blood-spurting performance at the MTV Video Music Awards, or the fact she wears clothes fabricated from the flesh of dead animals. We have applied to register the trademark Baby Gaga and are confident we'll secure this.
It's fine if someone just isn't comfortable with the ice cream. Some people are totally repulsed by cow's milk, too. But for someone who is so intentionally sexual and extreme and does some insanely questionable and gross things herself to claim that this is so terrible is just flat-out ridiculous.
Sue for intentionally using your likeness, sure, but to pretend their ice cream is more provocative or gross than anything you've done and hurts your reputation? L-A-M-E.
Do you think Lady Gaga is a total hypocrite?
