Mariah Carey will get a whole lot of flak for the nursery she just added to her Beverly Hills home for $1.3 million. There is no doubt, it's posh in the extreme.
Carey, 40, and her husband Nick Cannon, 30, are due with their twins in March, and the new nursery will feature amenities even a royal baby might not receive. Carey put 18-carat gold trim on the ivory walls. She filled the room with soft furnishings and walk-in wardrobes full of Petit Trésor designer clothes. There is also a first-class sound system and both children have diamond-encrusted iPods and a flat-screen TV that comes down from the ceiling.
Extravagant? Yes. But then, she always has been. She has waited years to have her babies and even though it's wasteful, she has the money. I have to say, I would probably do the same thing. Who wouldn't? Here are a couple of the items she bought:

Chelsea Sleigh Cribs: $1,500 each.

Glam Glider Rocker: $1,900 each.
It's easy to say it's a waste of money and certainly, it is. But the fact is, most of us would do the same thing if we could. With all that money, why shouldn't she go all out? Especially now when the babies are so young. If this continues their whole life, maybe they will be spoiled, but right now? There is no such thing as spoiling. This is all about Mariah and her husband and their fun and enjoyment.
Usually, I judge spending superfluous amounts of money, but in this case, I say why not. Mariah Carey has loads of cash; she has waited a long time. She knows what it means to be poor and she is no longer. I say go all out!

I wouldn't, but I don't have a problem with her doing it. I have lived in the bush country in West Africa for a short time. I have seen children with distended stomachs becuase they are starving. I couldn't.
My husband and I have even talked about IF we had a lot more money. We wouldn't change our house, our stuff. We would make some needed repairs :) but we wouldn't change the way we live.
I'd much rather see someone who can afford it, spend the money, then the COUNTLESS Americans who can't afford things and think they NEED it and so go into debt.
I honestly don't think anything. Celebrities are on a totally different planet than us "regular" people, and it doesn't matter what we think about how they spend their money.
Well, it's her money. She earned it. I feel she should be able to spend it the way she wants to. I'm not a fan of hers nor would I got to this extreme but it is her money to do with as she likes.
I would like to see pictures of it. I wouldn't go all out like that but I am interested in what $1.3 million in a nursery looks like.
Yeah, I'm with HeartCharmMama, I would love to see pictures of before the babies are born...and then I want to know what it looks like after one or both of the babies spits up on the undoubtedly expensive bedding, or even better when they have their first diaper explosion on some of the bedding and/or in their designer clothes they will only be wearing for a few months....yeah that would be worth it to see :)
I agree she has come along way from where she started. And I would do the same thing. I say go for it girl. After having a mc and now pregnant with twins. you go girl.
