It's hard being a new mom (or even an experienced mom to a new baby) and sometimes we do things we know we shouldn't, despite what all the experts say. But this is a safe place to share your secrets (PM me)—we'll never tell.
This Week's Secret:
I assumed after I had my baby that I would never email again. I assumed I would have no time for Facebook or web surfing and that would be just fine. Wow, was I wrong. My baby is 3 months old and I've gone from bad to worse. I can't get off Facebook! We are home a lot (it's cold outside and we live in New England!), so 90 percent of my socializing is done via Mark Zuckerberg. I feel weird about it, like the loser I made fun of in college who never left his dorm room. Plus I feel like I'm ignoring my baby even though all she wants is to nurse and sleep and poop. — Anonymous

I think most moms are secretly somewhat addicted to social media. Even here there are commenters who must spend all day on here. And I get it. We all need our lifeline.
Maybe your lifeline right now is Facebook. That's OK. For now. But maybe you could try to branch out a little? Make some friends in the neighborhood? It's only an "addiction" if it's keeping you from other things. If it is, you should temper it.
But a little Facebook never hurt anyone and social networking can be a lifesaver!
Do you have any advice for this mom?
