Your Stretchmarks Are Never Going Away

Belly photoHello lady friends. I'm here to set the record straight on stretchmarks, the thing you didn't want your body to create when you were pregnant. But along with a gorgeous baby, you got some ugly scars. I know you see ads on television and on magazines promising you a body like Jennifer Aniston. But you know what? She doesn't have kids.

You may hear about laser treatments, miracle creams, dermoplasty, and more, but sadly, these treatments may not work and you will shell out big bucks only to be extremely disappointed.

I don't like it anymore than you do, and I'm trying to break it to you gently, but trust me when I tell you that like your baby and bills, your stretchmarks are never going away.

And you shouldn't care.

Let's think about this: Do you know who must have stretchmarks all across her midsection? Angelina Jolie! She must. She's a skinny little twig who carried two babies in there at once! Do you think Brad Pitt is thinking about her stretchmarks when they are soaking in a bathtub together in one of the swanky bathrooms of George Clooney's Italian villa? Doubt it!

Okay, no one is thinking about anything but pure bliss when at Clooney's Italian villa, but you know what I mean!

I can understand if stretchmarks might make you feel self-conscious during swimsuit season, but really, most of the time you can cover those bad boys up. If it really bothers you that you have a few stretchmarks on your belly when you're at the beach, it's easy to find a flattering one-piece that modestly covers your belly or your butt while accentuating your curves up top or your great legs.

Admittedly, my stretchmarks are not my favorite feature, but I forget about them unless I'm completely naked and the only person who sees me naked is my husband. I'm quite certain that he doesn't pay the slightest bit of attention to them. So neither do I. Join me in NOT caring.

Do you have stretchmarks? How do you feel about them? Would you pay money to get rid of them or have you accepted them?
