Neil Patrick Harris and his partner David Burtka welcomed the birth of their twins on October 12 -- a boy and a girl.
The couple used a surrogate mother and announced they were expecting in August via Twitter. Following suit they also announced the babies' arrival in the same manner.
"Babies!! On 10/12, Gideon Scott and Harper Grace entered the Burtka-Harris fold," the actor tweeted on October 15. "All of us are happy, healthy, tired, and a little pukey."
Last night Harris took to Twitter again and blasted some reports about his parenting fears and how he wants his children to have a "normal childhood":
What's the deal with popeater.com's Rob Shuter just making up stories? First I'm quitting the biz, now another? It's made up, gang. Boooo.
Tried to ignore, then it gets picked up by other sites, (NY Post, etc.), and becomes understood as fact. Daddy no likey.
But even if he didn't like someone supposedly putting words in his mouth, we still bet he's going to give the babies as normal and as wonderful a childhood as possible. Here are three reasons he's off to a great start for fatherhood:
He gave the twins normal names. Gideon Scott and Harper Grace are cute but not too common. They won't have to explain why they were named after a country or a fruit for the rest of their lives.
He has a sense of humor about parenthood. Saturday he tweeted:
Youngsters, they cry a lot. I thought it was just a long bit that they were doing. I keep saying, 'Annnnd, scene!'... but nothing happens.
He has sought parenting advice from friends. How I Met Your Mother co-star Alyson Hannigan said she shared parenting tips with Harris and has seen him in action with kids.
"He's fantastic with my daughter and she just loves him," Hannigan told People. "He's definitely going to be so creative and fun."
Next tweet we're dying for: Pictures of the babies!
