Dan Gneiding is a senior graphic designer at Urban Outfitters (and a sometimes adjunct professor at Philadelphia University). Last year, he became a father when adorable Charlie Mae was born. He put together an amazing nursery for her that's both unusual and beautiful -- everything you'd expect from a designer of one of the coolest brands out there.
I feel so lucky that we get a peek into his home. I can't wait to hear what you think. Let's start by admiring the yellow shutters and beautiful crib. Gorgeous!

This is a mural Dan painted on one wall. So rad! I wonder if you could add and subtract from it as the baby grows and shows interest in specific objects? Wouldn't that be neat?

Dan calls this "baby's first taxidermy." :)

I love the little white settee! The proportion is so charming for a baby's room. (Did you see the Modest Mouse poster?)

This bird mobile was made by the design team at Anthropologie.

Each designer made a different bird that reflected his/her personality. What a thoughtful baby gift!

Here's another closeup of the mural. Yay for chucks!

The hound dog night light is from Megasii Design Group. I'll bet it creates the perfect glow at night -- just right for changing diapers in the dark.
What do you think? Does this room give you tons of ideas like it did me? Do you think the room is unisex enough for either a boy or a girl?
A big thanks to Dan for sharing this tour!

in want this as myy nursery lol
I've always loved this nursery - it was featured on Apartment Therapy at least a year ago - but as someone in the throes of nursery design at the moment, there are so many impractical things here that must have been done purely for styling. The iron crib, while beautiful, has far too much space between the bars for safety. The sheepskin on the changing table is pretty, but would need to be covered up by something washable. The settee is beautiful, but is it comfortable for nursing or soothing a baby? I love the doxie lamp and bought one for my niece, but under the crib can't be very convenient to turn it off an on. I think there are a lot of beautiful ideas here but wonder how it works day-to-day.
I love, love, love, LOVE the birds on a perch! What a great idea!!!!!!!
Hate it. Too weird for my taste.
I think is adorable! I especially like the mobile!
I love it! (minus the anters).
"The iron crib, while beautiful, has far too much space between the bars for safety."..... That was my first thought too! And the love seat, wouldn't be too cozy for feeding a baby in.
Not my style...
