Dan Gneiding is a senior graphic designer at Urban Outfitters (and a sometimes adjunct professor at Philadelphia University). Last year, he became a father when adorable Charlie Mae was born. He put together an amazing nursery for her that's both unusual and beautiful -- everything you'd expect from a designer of one of the coolest brands out there.
I feel so lucky that we get a peek into his home. I can't wait to hear what you think. Let's start by admiring the yellow shutters and beautiful crib. Gorgeous!
This is a mural Dan painted on one wall. So rad! I wonder if you could add and subtract from it as the baby grows and shows interest in specific objects? Wouldn't that be neat?
Dan calls this "baby's first taxidermy." :)
I love the little white settee! The proportion is so charming for a baby's room. (Did you see the Modest Mouse poster?)
This bird mobile was made by the design team at Anthropologie.
Each designer made a different bird that reflected his/her personality. What a thoughtful baby gift!
Here's another closeup of the mural. Yay for chucks!
The hound dog night light is from Megasii Design Group. I'll bet it creates the perfect glow at night -- just right for changing diapers in the dark.
What do you think? Does this room give you tons of ideas like it did me? Do you think the room is unisex enough for either a boy or a girl?
A big thanks to Dan for sharing this tour!
