This video of a baby rocking out as her dad sings Bon Jovi's "Dead or Alive" is one of the cutest I've seen in a long time.
Check it out:
The baby, who was 8 months old when the video was filmed, is completely uninhibited and just letting the music take her.
Now 2, Sydney appeared recently with her parents on The Early Show and still seems musically inclined. Her father, Aaron Foye, is a professional musician who plays with Willie Nelson, so it's definitely in her blood.
Watching babies react to music and discovering what excites them is one of my favorite parts of parenting.
I always have music on in my house, in my car, wherever I can. Some tunes cause a strong reaction in my children. For example, my son HATES country and has since he was an infant.
At 6, he declared The Beatles the best singers in the world, and my infant daughter heard tunes from the Fab Four galore.
Not so surprisingly, "Hey Jude" was among the first songs she learned. Somewhere around 13 months, I thought I was hearing something resembling "Na, na, na, na, na, na" from the backseat, and now she gets in even more of the words. I love overhearing her singing away in her crib.
Fortunately, I'm the master DJ for now, but I'm sure the day will come when what excites them musically may not excite me quite so much.
What kind of music does your child like?
