Salma Hayek told Style magazine that she's addicted to breastfeeding her 14-month-old daughter Valentina, and can't stop. She said, "I'm like an alcoholic. It is like, I don't care if I cry, I don't care if I am fat, I am just going to do it for one more week, one more month, and then when I see how much good it is doing her I can't stop."
She also said that breastfeeding has not helped her lose weight. "The myth that says you lose all this weight when you breastfeed! That is so not true! It's like, please, will everyone stop telling me I look really well."

No, but ask me again when I'm trying to wean! Her comments about the weight loss are intriguing, though. As soon as we really got down to feeding, I dropped ten pounds, and then another ten came off over the next couple of weeks...but now it's stalled. I never had a pregnant woman's appetite when I was actually pregnant, but now I'll knock you over to get to the dinner table first. My saggy belly skin is getting harder, and it's not muscle behind there, eep!
I fellt like this a little with my first. Breastfed 15 mos. or so. By my second, I was done at 9 mos. Both times I kept an extra 10 lbs., it seems, until the boys turned 2. I considered it my extra padding for the babes.
I love breast feeding. My daughter is always happy, never gassy and almost never spits up. As far as the weight loss, breast feeding is a natural part of the process. Breast feeding helps continue contractions to expel whatever is left 'inside". Some of the weight is water weight, and I guess the rest is from all that Ben and Jerry's and all those crazy cravings.
I love breastfeeding but i am slowly going through the weaning process with my 12 month old at her age right now i feel like its difficult to feed her because she is so big she likes big girl food and gets distracted easily. I will miss it and will always look back on the many memories i have of breastfeeding her.
i know i can't do it forever but i know I'll miss it when the time to wean comes.
I loved nursing.. and cried when we weaned. with our next child I will go longer! (We weaned at 20mo.)
