mel gibson oksana grigorievaMel Gibson's ex Oksana Grigorieva (who looks like Angelina Jolie and Susanna Hoffs, right?) says that Mel hit her while she had their 2-month-old daughter Lucia in her arms, thus hitting the baby, too, in the scuffle.

Just the other day I saw a couple fighting outside a restaurant. A man was smoking steps from the door and a woman came out with a baby in her arms. She seemed angry and asked the man (her husband) why he came outside. The man exhaled smoke right into the baby's face before he answered and the mother freaked out. The argument escalated but I had already passed the scene with my twins in the stroller and didn't look back. There were other people there -- friends of the couple. My husband commented to me, "Let's never argue with a baby in our arms."

There's no doubt that the Mel/Oksana situation is a he said/she said complete with recorded telephone conversations that show Mel GIbson in a very bad light. But could Oksana be planning something? Let's go to the tapes ...

Oksana: "You cannot raise the child with these symptoms."

Mel: "What?"

Oksana: "You’re acting as a crazy man right now and you have been for many, many months. And you hit me, and you hit her [Lucia] while she was in my hands! Mel, you’re losing your mind. You need medication.”

Mel: "You need a f*cking kick up the a** for being a b*tch, c*nt, gold digging whore! With a p*ssy son! And I want my child, and no one will believe you! So f*ck you!”

Mel doesn't admit or deny hitting his child, but it's clear that this couple has an explosive relationship that is dangerous to everyone involved -- even the "p*ssy son" Oksana has from another relationship. The same son who Oksana said Mel threw into a coffee table when the 12-year-old tried to knock a cigarette out of his mouth.

So much wrong with this story and the audio tapes. But Mel feels he will have custody of their baby, Lucia. 

Mel: “You have my child and she doesn’t need a gold digging, f*cking Russian c*nt, wh*re for a mother! We all know what you are! I will have that child, easily."

Oksana: “I’m sorry? You will not have this child.”

Mel: “They won’t let you keep her because they’ll know what you are!”

What is she, Mel? Is there something more? It's not just Mel that is so in the wrong here. Oksana is too. Too much in the media. Neither of them has the sense to attempt to stay calm for the baby. Lucia, who is now just 8 months old, is the one being hurt the most in all of this -- now and for the rest of her life this is her reality, recordings by her mother, showing a monstrous side of her father.

As a mother, I know I have to edit myself in front of my children. I try my hardest not to expose them to any fights I might have with my husband. I don't want them in my arms if I'm in a situation that could put them in harm. Why couldn't Oksana and Mel do the same?

We all know hot shot Hollywood gets away with a lot of things. They can be above the law. But what do you think about Mel Gibson? Will he get custody of Lucia? Should he?
