Laura Ling, the journalist who was held captive in North Korea with Euna Lee, welcomed a daughter with husband Iain Clayton on Wednesday.

She named her after former President William Jefferson Clinton and her sister Lisa Ling.

Li Jefferson Clayton weighed 8 lbs. 2 oz.

Why did Bill get this honor?

It was Clinton who went to North Korea to speak with Kim Jong Il to facilitate the release of Ling and Lee.

Li -- a pretty name and I love it spelled this way.

Jefferson -- a strong name, unusual for a girl, but I like it. What great meaning behind it, too.

Another option: Billie Li. Billie is also the name of Rebecca Gayheart and Eric Dane's baby girl.

Congrats to the new family!

What do you think of the name Li Jefferson?

It's a nice tribute to two important people in her life.

I like it, it's just the middle name so it won't harm her socially or anything.  (c'mon kids CAN be mean).  My daughter's middle name is Ryann, after her dad Ryan.  I think it helps add to her uniqueness, especially when there are 3 other Allison's in her classroom.
