I know she's a supermodel and all, but I wonder sometimes if that makes her a superhuman as well?
Then I remind myself that I could've lost a boatload of baby weight too if I had a personal trainer, a chef, an organic garden in my backyard, and a gym in my house.
The pressure to lose all of your baby weight within a few months can be enormous, if you let it be. If those pre-pregnancy jeans taunt you every time you open the closet door, put them away under the towels. Your first few months postpartum should be about adjusting to motherhood or your new baby, not comparing yourself to pictures in magazines, which are probably photoshopped beyond recognition anyway.
Since everyone is different, there's no standard answer or expectation on how long it should take you to lose those extra pregnancy pounds. The only thing that matters is knowing that it can be done -- when you decide you're ready.
Update: I started my operation baby weight be gone eight weeks ago and I've lost 12 pounds so far! Double digits!

I was actually very overweight when I got pregnant so I was really watching my weight through the pregnancy - I only gained 18 lbs total. After he was born, I had no taste for any food, I mostly ate grapes and drank water, so I've been very fortunate to lose all of my baby weight and then some. I am now 35 lbs lighter than I was before I was pregnant last August - I still have a long long way to go to get to a healthy weight, but I feel I'm making good slow progress....
I had 2 babies in 17 months. I have lost 20lbs since January (my daughter was born in December) and am at the weight I was before getting pregnant with my daughter and 15 lbs to go to get to the weight I was before number 1, I hope to be there by December.
My sister always said that it took nine months to gain it, you should not expect to lose it in anything under nine months.
Losing the weight was easy for me. Size for by about 3 weeks postpartum and fully gone by 6 weeks. What remains for me is cellulite, spider veins and saggy stomach. It took me 3 pregnancies, but I've accepted that I won't wear a bikini or short shorts again. What was hard this time was reacting to all the you're so skinny comments. What do you say without being cruel? "Yes, I know I have a really high metabolism or I'm a freak" One lady in the park didn't think my baby could be mine because I was thin. How do you respond to this???
