No matter if you want to lose a few pounds or if you just want to stay in the lovely shape you are right now, walking is a perfect exercise for anyone at any fitness level to lose baby weight.
But let's face it. Walking can get to be kind of boring. I've tried to change up my route and the time of day, but I feel like a change in routine would keep me motivated to lose weight.
A mom friend of mine recommended trying a Baby Boot Camp class. I want to -- but my muscles are afraid!
Baby Boot Camp stroller-based fitness classes are designed specifically to help moms get fit. Classes combine strength-training exercises with cardiovascular drills. Pilates, yoga, and abdominal exercises help improve core strength. The stroller and resistance tubes (and even your child!) are used as an integral part of the workout.
Since I work out of the home most of the time, I hate to leave my kids if I don't have to, so this could be something baby Rowan and I could do together. Walking has been great to help tone my legs, but after two pregnancies, my abdominals could sure use a good talking-to.
Also, I would rather struggle to do five sit-ups in front of a bunch of other moms instead of panting in a class at the gym that's full of 20-somethings -- and look at my cute kid while I'm doing it.
So this sounds really good, now I just need to convince myself I can do it. Have you ever tried a mom and baby exercise class?

i joined a similiar program a month ago called strollers strides. i love that i get that kick to get up and get to bring my 2 yo and newborn. highly reccomend it.
Ooh, this sounds awesome! My motivation was my pants. I wanted them to fit again!
I have new pants in a size smaller than I fit into, hang them up where I have to see them every day, and just push myself to get myself into them! :)
my motivation are my two girls, i want to be fit so i can keep up with them!
We do Stroller Strides and love it! I have a 2 year old and a 5 year old and they have so much fun watching mommy run and jump around. I gained 55 lbs with my 2nd and lost it ALL in less than 6 months- I am in better shape now than some of my non-mommy friends! You should give it a try!
I WISHED I could have found something like that after I had my baby...I LOOKED but no such luck in this small town I live in.
I have NO IDEA how to motivate myself to start a new exercise program.....I would love to tone up my body but I'm too lazy to work for it....LOL
