Photo by Mom9babyGirl009As my baby wakes up at the crack of dawn (as babies seem to do), something interesting is happening with my 4-year-old. She's sleeping in, and oftentimes we have to wake her up to get her ready for school.
Since our lives have been so chaotic for the past eight months, I'm not really sure when my daughter started this pattern. But I'm thinking we just entered into that phase where we're trying to wake her up instead of vice versa. Could my husband and I be so lucky?
So of course my question is, when will my son follow suit?
I searched the Internet for some answers but have only found desperate pleas of, "My baby wakes up at 5 a.m. every morning! Help!"
Aside from the advice to put the baby to bed earlier (which, by the way, I've found has the opposite effect on my little guy), I haven't found any magic answers that will lead to leisurely weekend mornings.
We put books and toys in his bed after he falls asleep so he'll be entertained, but nothing is so entertaining as yelling for mom and dad to remove him immediately from his crib.
We've tried feeding him dinner earlier so we don't have the early morning poop explosion, but even when that works, he still seems to revel in his role as designated alarm clock.
So, like so many other things, I've resigned myself to the fact that this is a stage. A stage that may not end for another two and half to three years, if his sister is any indication.
When did your baby start to sleep in? Please say before the age of 4!
