One of the Graco cribs recalled
Hardware failures are to blame for this latest crib recall -- the CPSC reported that one child has died.
Time to check the crib, mamas.
The cribs recalled include 217,000 Graco drop-side cribs made by LaJobi and fixed-side and drop-side cribs from Simplicity.
Simplicity full-size cribs with tubular metal mattress-support frames for both fixed-side and drop-side cribs pose a risk of serious injury or death due to entrapment, strangulation, suffocation, and fall hazards to infants and toddlers.
The frame can bend or detach causing the mattress to collapse, putting the child in danger.
CPSC reported that a 1-year-old child from North Attleboro, Massachusetts, became trapped and suffocated. There were 13 other incidents reported.
Graco's recall includes the LaJobi line, specifically the Ashleigh, Hampton, Jason, Kendal, Lauren, Rachel, Sarah, Shannon, and Tifton drop-side cribs. The drop-side hardware can fail or break creating a dangerous gap. There have been 99 reports of this happening.
