A new baby is always a reason to celebrate, but does that mean another shower? See what a party planner and moms have to say about having a shower for a second -- or third or fourth! -- baby and then decide what's right for you.

Consider an Alternative Celebration

"Once you're on your second or third child, you've probably already experienced the typical baby shower full of silly games and themes. I encourage my clients to take a different path to celebrate this baby on the way. Play nontraditional games, have an upscale co-ed brunch, or simply opt to have a 'sprinkle' [mini shower] or 'sip and see' after the arrival of the baby." -- Nicole Pittmon, owner and event planner and stylist at Nicole Marie Events, Beverly Hills, CA

Go for It!

"There's nothing wrong with having baby showers for every pregnancy. In my culture, that's what we do. Every baby is a celebration and each baby deserves a shower."

It Depends

"I felt that I would be acting greedy if I'd had a second shower, but if you really need the help, don't be afraid to have one. It's celebrating a new baby. If it makes you feel better about it, make sure your registry has cheaper items on it and is not full-out expensive."

Sometimes It Makes Sense

"It's not for me, but I see why people do it. My sister has two girls, but there are almost eight years between them, so she had two showers. I also know people will do it if their babies are two different genders."

It's Not for Everyone

"I know second showers happen more often now, but there is no way I could justify having another for myself."
